COVID-19: First Lady distributes donated items amid mixed reactions

NIGERIA’s First Lady, Dr. Aisha Buhari has commenced the distribution of items donated to her project; “Get Involved Initiative” by well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations towards the fight against the dreadful Coronavirus in the society.

The First Lady disclosed this on Friday stating that the distribution of the donated items including hospital beds, bedsheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among others commenced in the Federal Capital Territory, Gombe and Bauchi states on Friday.

Mrs. Buhari explained that the distribution will be extended to other states that are in dire need of the items to support on the fight against Covid-19.

“Today, I started the distribution of the donated items including hospital beds, bedsheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and different medications and many others to FCT, Gombe and Bauchi states.

“This is to continue with other state that are in dire need of these items to support on the fight against Covid-19”, Mrs. Buhari stated.

However, the statement attracted mixed reactions from the public with some questioning why the two chosen states are in the northern region and the Federal Capital Territory without any state from the south while many other reactions extolled the first lady for the good gesture.
