Kaduna Assembly fight dirty, exchange blows as area-boys

THE Kaduna State House of Assembly on Thursday morning turned the legislative chamber look like a market square, or rather a boxing ring. Though, none of the two public places is suitable as the former is designated for lawful activities; buying and selling while the later; for sports and wrestling.

The lawmakers fought barefacedly over impeachment attempt against the Deputy Speaker, Mukhtar Hazo which is part of legislative activities and norm.

According to report, the Deputy speaker, Hazo was impeached by 24 out of the 34 members of the house during the plenary which didn’t go down well with his supportes.

At the sitting presided over by the Speaker, Yusuf Zailani, the 24 members opposed to the Deputy Speaker passed a vote of no confidence in Hazo after which the voted to impeach him.

The members subsequently elected Isaac Zankai, representing Kaura Constituency as the new Deputy Speaker in his replacement.
