The Selfish and Wicked Hunter (Part 1) By Oluwatobiloba Olatunji, JSS-1

Once upon a time, there was a hunter whose name was Ayodele.

He lived in a village called Ireti-Aye. The villagers hated him because he was wicked and selfish. He always wanted to have everything to himself.

On one fateful day, Ayodele went to his farm to work and harvest, so he met Akanbi his neighbour who was harvesting his yam for the new yam festival.

The yam was so much and heavy to the extent that he couldn’t carry them. So, he started running back to the village to get help. When he almost got to the village, he met Ayodele. Ayodele asked him why he was running to the village. He said he couldn’t carry his harvested yams so he wanted to go get help.

 Ayodele now said, I can help you if you don’t mind. Akanbi paused, then he continued

“I don’t trust you, everybody in the village hate you because you are greedy.

 Ayodele said “If everybody doesn’t trust me, so my own very neighbour too wont trust me, then he said, or is it because of that man called Bamijaye.”

He lied that he found money, he is lying oh I found the money he told me to give him but I said I wouldn’t so he came to the village and lied it was his money. The villagers and the king believed him and they punished me.

After Akanbi had heard all, he finally agreed and said “okay but you must not be greedy to have everything to yourself” and off they went.
