Asian countries reopening for tourism after lockdown

COUNTRIES in Asia are in the beginning stages of reopening their borders for tourism after months of lockdown put in place by governments as a preventive measure among others to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic

Asia has had some of the strictest border restrictions and closures since the Covid-19 pandemic began. While Europe has moved forward with reopening borders, countries in Asia are proceeding with a much more cautious approach to inbound travel.

Some of the countries include Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Maldives, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Entry requirements for these countries allowed to reopen include: COVID-19 negative medical certificate issued not more than 72 hours prior to the date of travel and Proof of medical insurance coverage.

And on arrival, health authorities require all travelers to undergo a COVID-19 test and wait to receive the laboratory results.
