Police recruitment: Bow legs, bent knees, six other ‘deformities’ unacceptable

THE Nigerian Police Force has announced enrollment into the force and invited suitably qualified Nigerians for recruitment as Police Constables.

This was disclosed in a public notice by DSP Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) at Force headquarters, Abuja.

As a minimum academic qualification, an applicant must possess at least 5 credits in WASC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB with a compulsory credit in English language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.

As a general requirement, an applicant must be between 17 to 25 years in age, and possess a National Identity Card (NIN).

Furthermore, an applicant suffering from any of the underlisted abnormalities or deformities need not to apply as the application would not be accepted. They are;

  1. Impediment in speech.
  2. Gross malfunction of teeth and jaw preventing proper mastication of food.
  3. Knock knees.
  4. Bow legs.
  5. Bent knees; that is, knees which cannot stand straight when standing attention.
  6. Deformed hands which cannot perform the full functions of the hands.
  7. Defective eyesight or squints eyes.
  8. Amputation of any part of the body.
