NOUN Alumni Holds SEC/NEC Elections On 28 And 30 December, 2016

Notice is hereby again given to ALL members of the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) concerning the forthcoming elections into the State Executive Council (SEC) and National Executive Council (NEC) scheduled to hold on Wednesday 28th December and Friday 30th  December, 2016 respectively.
The SEC election will hold online Wednesday 28 December while NEC will be through Delegates Congress on Friday 30 December.
In view of this, voting codes will be sent to members phones with which to exercise franchise as the Board of Trustees (BoT) assures all contestants of free and fair exercises.
It is also imperative to inform you that the spurious text messages being spread by some disgruntled elements that are desirous of creating confusions and misrepresentations are baseless as the elections are being conducted based on a ruling of a court, and since the ruling of the court, no appeal was filed till date. Hence, such reckless misrepresentations are derogatory. Having been legally set aside by the court, such persons lack locus standi to put up such caveat emptor.
The Board of Trustees therefore wishes to urge fellow graduates and contestants to ignore such text messages discouraging others from taking part in the electoral process. However, in line with the legal justice system, the criminal act has been formally reported to the law enforcement agencies for necessary arrests in view of the contempt of court being committed by the fellows.
For avoidance of doubt, the court ruling is hereby attached below for your perusal.
SIGNED:
Usman Tanze Danjuma
Chairman, BoT, NOUNAA.
